ABOUT DIVE IN
DIVE IN is an Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership project designed to promote the local integration of Erasmus+ participants across Europe.
The project encourages young people to experience mobility beyond tourism — through authentic local culture, meaningful relationships and community life.
By creating practical tools and intercultural experiences, DIVE IN helps participants feel less like visitors and more like locals.
Many Erasmus+ participants spend most of their mobility experience interacting mainly with other international students. While mobility creates important opportunities, limited contact with local communities can reduce cultural immersion, meaningful exchange and the feeling of belonging. DIVE IN was created to address this challenge by promoting authentic interaction between Erasmus+ participants and local communities.
Turning Mobility Into Cultural Exchange
DIVE IN aims to transform Erasmus+ experiences into opportunities for deeper cultural understanding and human connection.
The project promotes:
• local integration
• intercultural dialogue
• inclusion and diversity
• active participation in community life
• European identity through shared experiences
By helping participants discover cities through local perspectives, DIVE IN encourages a more authentic and meaningful way of experiencing Europe.
Practical and cultural guides designed to help participants understand the everyday life of their host cities — from local habits to neighbourhood culture and hidden places.
Interactive activities connecting Erasmus+ participants and local communities through shared experiences, dialogue and cultural exchange.
Digital communication, open resources and project events helping organisations across Europe adopt and share DIVE IN practices.
DIVE IN brings together organisations from Malta, Spain, Belgium and Italy working in mobility, youth participation and intercultural exchange. Together, the partnership shares a common vision: creating more human, inclusive and locally connected Erasmus+ experiences across Europe.
